In line with its Market Diversification strategy, the Economic Development Board (EDB) Mauritius, led a multisectoral private sector delegation on an Investment and Business Prospection Mission to the Middle East in May 2024, with focus on the State of Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Mission was led by Mr. Hemraj Ramnial CSK, Chairman of EDB, supported by Mr. Arvind Radhakrishna, Strategic Advisor to EDB, H.E Showkutally Soodhun GCSK, Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius to the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and EDB’s Representative office in Dubai.
Key Components of the Mission entailed:
In the context of the forthcoming Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates, EDB, in collaboration with Dubai Chambers organised the Mauritius – Dubai Business & Investment Forum on the 14th of May 2024. This event was graced by the distinguished presences of His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Minister in charge of Talent Attraction and Retention and H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President & CEO of Dubai Chambers.
Institutional meetings were also held with Qatar Investment Authority, Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Qatar Financial Centre Authority and Invest Qatar, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Investment Corporation of Dubai, Invest Oman, Oman Investment Authority, Oman Bank Association, Oman Insurance Association, Central Bank of Oman, Sohar Bank International, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman, Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning of Oman and Ministry of Transport, Communication & Information Technology, Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia and the Federation of Saudi Chambers
